காசிரங்காவிலிருந்து மறுநாள் விடி காலை கவுஹாத்தி நோக்கி எங்கள் பயணம். என் தங்கையை காலை ஃப்ளைட் சென்னைக்கு ஏத்தி விட்டுவிட்டு சென்னையில் இருந்து வந்த என் மகனின் ஃப்ரெண்டை பிக் அப் செய்துட்டு கவுகாத்தியிலிருந்து மேகாலயா ஷில்லாங் கிளம்பிட்டோம். 100 கி,மீ தூரம் 3 மணிநேர பயணம். மேகாலயா அருமையான ரோடு. நாலு வழி சாலை மலை மேலே.
இங்கே என் ஃபெரெண்டின் கணவர் ஏற்ப்பாட்டில் ஆர்மி மெஸ்ஸில் தங்க ரூம் ஏற்பாடு செய்து இருந்தோம். Rs. 700 for four persons. Very big room. ஆர்மி மெஸ்ஸிலேயே அருமையான சாப்பாடு.
1. மறுநாள் காலை Krung Suri water fall நோக்கி பயணம்.- Jowai Hill. 84 km from Shillong. Entry rs.40 per head.
இங்கேயும் வழக்கம் போல நாங்க மட்டுமே இருந்தோம். கார் நிறுத்துமிடத்திலிருந்து ஒரு பள்ளத்தில் அரை மணி நேரம் நடந்த பின் அழகிய அருவி. இங்கே என் இரு மகன்களும் குளித்தார்கள். வெயில் இருந்தாலும் தண்ணீர் மிக Chill.
பங்களாதேஷ் பார்டர் போனோம் இங்கேயிருந்து பிறகு மதியம் மிக அழகிய
Dawki Umngot River போனோம்.
2. Umngot River possibly India’s cleanest river.
A boat ride on the glass-like, emerald green waters of the Umngot river. The water is so clear that one can see the river bed 12 feet below.
The Umngot is a prime fishing spot for both Indian and Bangladeshi fishermen.
Paid 540 rs for traditional boat. One hour ride.
Many Lorries crossing here and there. Very risk to ride to reach the Bangladesh border. .I think mysons are clearly born to drive in the hilly terrain.
On the one side rose the hills of Meghalaya and on the other side lay the plains of Bangladesh.
Fruits and vegetables went from India — oranges, pineapple, tomato — apart from betel nut, betel leaf and also bay leaf.
From Bangladesh came potato chips and biscuits, plastic crockery and cotton goods. There was also a weekly bus service, connecting Dhaka to Guwahati via Shillong.

கிராமத்தில் மரங்கள் இருந்தாலும் கீழே விழும் ஒவ்வொரு இலையும் மூங்கில் குப்பை கூடையில் அள்ளிடுறாங்க. நாங்க போன Evening time
சின்ன குழந்தைகள் கூட விளக்குமாறும் கையுமாக அலைஞ்சுட்டு இருந்தாங்க. எனக்கும் கை பரப்பரன்னுடுச்சு!!

Mawlynnong is a village in the East Khasi Hills district of the Meghalaya state, India. It is famous for its cleanliness and natural attraction. Mawlynnong was awarded the prestigious tag of 'Cleanest Village in Asia' in 2003 by Discover India Magazine.
The waste is collected in the dustbins made of bamboo, directed to a pit and then used as manure. A community initiative mandates that all residents should participate in cleaning up the village. Smoking and use of polythene is banned while rainwater harvesting is encouraged.Bamboo dustbins stand at every corner.
This small, 600-odd person town in the Meghalaya region is renowned as the cleanest village in India.
Home to the Khasi tribal people, Mawlynnong is famous for being a rare matrilineal society, where property and wealth are passed on from the mother to her youngest daughter and children take their mother's surname.

130 வருடங்கள் முன்பு காலரா வந்த போது அது பரவாமல் இருக்க இடத்தை சுத்தமாக வைக்க ஆரம்பித்து அது தினமும் பழக்கமாகிடுச்சாம்.
இது பழக்கம் இல்லை இந்த மக்களின் Tradition.
4. Root Bridge. 60–100 years old Mawlynnong Root Bridge. CHERRAPUNJEE - 56 kms from SHILLONG.
They are handmade from the aerial roots of banyan tree.
The pliable tree roots are made to grow through betel tree trunks which have been placed across rivers and streams until the figs' roots attach themselves to the other side. Sticks, stones, and other objects are used to stabilize the growing bridge. This process can take up to 15 years to complete
Over the years, stones and earth have been lodged between the gaps of the banyan tree roots to form the beautiful pathway, and the ancient, organic meshwork weaves its beauty underneath. At later stages in the evolution of the bridge, stones are inserted into the gaps and eventually become engulfed by the plant forming the beautiful walkways. Later still, the bridges are improved upon with the addition of hand rails and steps.
5. மறு நாள் காலையிலேயே ரூம் காலி செய்துட்டு நேராக சிரப்புஞ்சி போய் Nohkalikar Falls, 56 km from shilling - Maawsmai Cave – lime stone cave, பார்த்துட்டு
போகும் வழியில் இரண்டு மலைகளுக்கு இடையே க்ராஸ் செய்யும் Zip Lining ( total lenght of 2600 feet and 1200 feet in height ) Rs. 700 per head - இரண்டு பசங்களும் செய்ய அப்படியே மேகாலயா பயணத்தை முடித்து கொண்டு நவம்பர் 24 அன்று ஷில்லாங்கிலிருந்து இறங்கி கவுஹாத்தி வந்து மாலை 7 மணிக்கு ரயில்வே ஸ்டேசனுக்கு மிக அருகில் ரூம் போட்டு விட்டு நான் ரெஸ்ட் எடுக்க பசங்க இரண்டும் காரை கொண்டு போய் ஒப்படைத்து வந்தார்கள். அன்று கவுகாத்தியில் ஏதோ ஒரு கோயில் விழா. மிக அதிக ட்ராஃபிக். மறு நாள் காலை நவம்பர் 25 எங்களுக்கு திரிபுராக்கு ட்ரையின்.
